11. Glögg
Glögg is a type of mulled wine, typically served at Christmas time. Wine is heated with spices, and left to simmer. This process takes the alcohol out of the wine, so vodka is added to kick things up a notch. Traditionally, the vodka is left to infuse with the spices for at least a day (ideally for up to a week), then added to the heated wine. Swedish glögg is different from other types of mulled wine because almonds and raisins are added to the bottom of each glass before serving.
