6. Deep Fried Starbucks
In 2015, the San Diego County Fair made headlines with several new kinds of experimental fair food. The eventual winner was quite unexpected — deep friend Starbucks.
The inventor of the dish took freshly ground coffee, rolled it in pastry dough, then deep fried it. The deep fried coffee balls were served in a Starbucks to-go cup with whipped cream for dipping. The dish was supposed to help tired fair-goers get their caffeine fix in without having to use the bathroom as much.
