Christ of the Abyss
One of the only major works of art to be sunk deep into the ocean (on purpose), the statue Christ of the Abyss has been replicated a few different times, and can be found in the Italian Riviera, off the coast of St. George, Grenada, and just off the coast of Key Largo, Florida. The statues, which are each just over 8 feet tall, were originally cast by an Italian artisan, and all subsequent copies were given as gifts by the Italian government. The original statue commemorated the death of Dario Gonzatti, the first man to use SCUBA gear, who died just off the coast of the Italian Riviera.
