Language
Visitors shouldn’t worry about any communication problems as around 96 percent of the population speaks English.
However, there has been a revitalization of the Māori language (spoken by the early natives) and just under four percent of the population speaks it. You can see the presence of the Māori language in the name of cities, mountains, fruits, and also some animals. Due to immigration, there’s also a large number of speakers of Samoan, Hindi, and Mandarin.
