The best place to watch the fireworks is along the banks of the Ohio River — the fireworks are lit from barges in the center of the river, and along the sides of the George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge. It’s estimated that more people attend Thunder Over Louisville than the actual Kentucky Derby itself.
