4. Secession
Passing through Krugerstrasse, we reach Kärntner Strasse and, near the opera, we enter the pedestrian passage beneath the Ringstrasse and Karlsplatz where we look for the Secession exit.
The Secession can be recognized from afar by its imposing golden cupola. The most interesting fact is yet to be revealed: this was actually an association of artists of the late 19th century. Their motto was nothing else than inspiring: to every age its art, to every art its freedom.
Here we can see the magnificent Beethovenfries frieze, dedicated by Gustav Klimt to Beethoven and his Symphony No. 9, during the 1902 Beethoven Exposition.
