How the Skills You Gain Traveling Translate into The Real World

7. Patience
Some countries can be extremely bureaucratic and their services are not as streamlined as they should be. For example, I’ve once had to wait five hours to cross the border from Brazil to Bolivia. Another time, a train which should have left at 12 a.m. ended up leaving at 2 a.m. and I just spent the time playing cards with friends.
The point is that traveling definitely tests your patience and the best course of action is to adopt a Zen-like approach. Back home, when you see someone shouting abuse to a fast food server because their meal took six minutes, you’ll just feel sorry for them.
