9 Must-Attend German Beer Festivals That AREN’T Oktoberfest
| October 2, 2015
Barthelmarkt in Oberstimm
While this beer festival may be located in a small town in Northern Bavaria, it does manage to pack a crowd. Most of the tents are at capacity by 6am with revelers well into their first liter of locally brewed beer. The weekend long festival kicks off with a horse race and ends with a horse market. The festival’s origins date back to the time of the Romans in the first century BC when it was a cattle market. That’s a history that all of the other festivals can raise a stein to!
