13 Questions You Should Ask Before Traveling Long Term
| September 7, 2018
10. Which Documents Should I Carry With Me?
The most important document to carry is obviously your passport. Make sure it has at least six months of validity, because some countries won’t let you in if it’s about to expire. Many countries will also ask for a yellow fever certificate, so check if you might need to have one.
Another important and often forgotten document is an onward flight ticket. If you have a return flight, you don’t have to worry, but travelers with a one-way ticket must prove they’ll leave the country. This is usually checked by the flight company, so if you fail to show a ticket, you might be denied boarding.
